Task are launched more than one time

Postby sined » Fri, 12 Oct 2012, 16:16

Hi All,
I use nnCron Lite.

This is my cron row

30 05 * * * C:\Sined32\SinSqlBckAdv\SinSqlBckAdv.exe /BACKUPDB /SENDWSC /DATABASE=SinedCartella /HISTDAY=7

Not all the time, the task is runned twice. The first time at 05.30 and the second time after 1 minute.

Does anyone have seen this behaviour?
Does anyone have an idea?
Does nnCron Lite still developed?

Thanks all

Mirko

When you say the task is being ran twice, does it have a constant time interval? Maybe you have other entries set up in your cron.

I have seen this same issue. The CRON job will start at 02:00 and then out of the blue the same job will be executed at 02:00:58. This is very strange and does not occur too often. The job itself is executed once per week and it should not repeat itself.

This issue has been driving me a little nuts for months and I thought it was just my machine(s).
Am glad (sort of) that others are experiencing the same problem...!

Also using nnCron Lite 1.17.119.0 and a (single) weekly task specified in the cron.tab file:
30 10 * * Mon ~"C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscript.exe" "C:\myscript.vbs"

On very rare occasions nnCron fires the scheduled task again within a minute of the 1st fire.
I've only seen it on WinXP machines but that's only because I'm not running it on Win7/8 (yet).

Hopefully the developers can re-produce and fix... 8)

Happy New Year!

I have a very large cron file and it is running on a server running Windows 2003. I did some research and found that I had the following defined:

==> DefaultRunMissedTime: 60

I changed it to be the following:

==> DefaultRunMissedTime: 0

Once I had made this change I have not seen any erroneous repeat schedule events. I hope this helps.

darn it... not seen this since January since setting "DefaultRunMissedTime: 0" but it just occurred again... ! 8(

Same problem as before: scheduled task fires again within a minute of the 1st fire.
Still only 1x task specified in the cron.tab file and "DefaultRunMissedTime: 0" specified in the cron.ini

Did this setting fix the issue for everyone/anyone else?

The change I suggested does eliminate many of the issues but it is still occurring on my machine.

On my system it appears that the timer is popping a few seconds early which is causing the same job(s) to be re-executed thus generating many complaints. For example, it should pop at 02:00 and the 2nd one occurs at 02:59 thus re-executing all of the 02:00 scheduled jobs. Is there any debugging or tracing that I can enable to figure out why the timer is popping more than once?
