McAfee VirusScan false alarm on nnbackup.exe

Postby Valery_Kondakoff » Fri, 03 Feb 2006, 14:50

The latest McAfee VirusScan builds are reporting that nnbackup.exe is infected by 'New Poly Win32' virus. This is a false alarm - there are no viruses in our programs.

I strongly suggest to McAfee VirusScan users to drop a line to a McAfee VirusScan developers, repoting the false alarm and giving them an URL of nnBackup distribution - so they can fix this problem.

I would suggest to just switch to other anti virus software. I use Avast and have had no issues with it. It is by far the best tool for me.

Wow, I'm glad that it's a false alarm. I hate viruses.

Most security softwares would tag this as virus since it's a backup software. As long as we know the publisher for the file being detected, there should be nothing to be worried about.
